We understand that these messages appear to be from JB Hi-Fi because scammers hijack our "JBHiFi" alpha tag which is the sending name we use, but the number itself is different to ours.
This makes the message appear as if it is sent by JB Hi-Fi and is displayed as a “follow on” from previous (genuine) messages. This means that scam messages appear in the same SMS thread as a genuine SMS message from us (even if sent from a different SMS messaging service to the previous genuine messages).
Scams often tell you that you’ve won a prize, or that you’re invited to complete a survey for a prize, or ask for personal or banking details.
JB Hi-Fi will never ask for your personal details in an unsolicited manner.
